Schloss Marienburg

Schloss Marienburg in Lucerne was built in the 12th/13th century as the seat of the lords of Büttikon and, via the counts of Nidau and Thierstein, was sold to Lucerne in 1476, serving as a bailiwick seat until 1798 before being destroyed by fire. The castle is private property and not open to the public.
